A disproportionate percentage of North Minneapolis residents struggle with unemployment and underemployment. The Momentum program was designed to respond to this disparity, providing training and support to unemployed and underemployed residents of North Minneapolis to help them secure living wage jobs.
The Momentum program includes:
- Training for empowerment and job skills.
- Mentoring and support from volunteer mentors.
- Job placement through an employer network.
- Case Management, providing participants with connection to other needed resources.
What graduates are saying:
- “I know now that there is hope and that my life can be prosperous, I can be in control of my destiny.”
- “I learned that I can take my personality and find a job that works with it.”
- “I am starting to believe that there really is no end to what I can accomplish.”
