Sanctuary in the Schools

We believe in our public schools, and want to help make them as excellent as possible.  The Sanctuary CDC partners with schools to encourage and provide needed support to students and staff. While we support all our schools, this past year we entered into a formal partnership with Lucy Craft Laney in North Minneapolis.

What are we doing in the schools?

Mobilizing volunteers

Tutors and mentors are mobilized into the schools we partner with, meeting regularly with students who need help with reading and math.

School supply drives

Each fall we help assure the school and students are well supplied with the basics from paper and pencils to tissue and binders!

Winter wear drives

Coats, hats and mittens are collected for students in November each year.

Staff Recognition

School staff work hard and are so seldom recognized for their work. Each spring, Sanctuary CDC holds a staff recognition at each school, honoring those who serve our children.
