City Matters
City Matters is NOT just another conversation about urbanism, race and poverty, BUT a NEW conversation aboutGod’s passion and Our responsibility for the City and authentic community.
Topics such as health, housing and education serve as starting points to deeply explore the issues communities of poverty struggle with, how it all came to be and how we as individuals and communities can offer ourselves to solutions.
The class incorporates lecture, small group discussion, readings, guest speakers and volunteer service to create a learning environment where:
• Knowledge is shared
• Community is formed
• Connections are made
• And where action can begin
