Overview

The Sanctuary Community Development Corporation (CDC), an extension of the ministry of the Sanctuary Covenant Church, is committed to providing a sanctuary of programs and services for children, youth, families and individuals.   This year has been a season of transition and reflection to determine, “the right vision as God sees it  …our burden, a call greater than ourselves, a call to be” according to John Perkins, CEO and Founder of Christian Community Development Foundation.    At the same time, we have witnessed the extraordinary compassion and grace that has transformed the lives of those served, volunteers and participants through Love Minneapolis, Bridge of Reconciliation, City Matters and Sanctuary in the Schools.

In 2010, we adopted the mantra, “Beloved Community: Compassion… Justice for All”, and are focusing on building a stronger and viable community.  Our major priority areas are Children, Youth & Families; Economic Development; and Community Engagement.

We believe strongly that beloved community partnerships are the most effective way to meet the needs of people and breakdown the social economic and systemic barriers that prevent people from the pursuit of a fruitful and quality life.     Partnerships and leveraging human and charitable resources is one of the CDC’s core strategies.    This includes churches, non-profits, governmental agencies and businesses.
